The BCCA supports the reconstruction of the Bolinas Beach seawall! We need your help to get it done, and we're making it easy for you.
As you may know, the BCPUD has joined with the property owner of 100 Brighton Avenue (AMJT Capital) in a permit application to the California Coastal Commission to rebuild and improve the seawall on the right side of the end of Brighton Avenue. This is CCC project Th8a. The CCC meeting begins tomorrow morning, July 9th at 9am. Although the CCC staff is recommending approval of this rebuilding permit, they have done so with several "special conditions" or caveats, some of which will affect the public's access. We have included links to the details of the project at the bottom of this e-mail. Here's what we need you all to do TODAY:
Please tell the CCC that you DO NOT support the project approval as recommended, BUT YOU DO support the project with the changes proposed by the applicants. This language is extremely important in your statement to the CCC. The CCC wants a smaller less robust project. The BCPUD is advocating for the community's access to a long-standing landmark in town, including the reconstruction of the public walkway on top of the seawall, handicap access to the wall, and new stairs leading to the "upcoast" side of the beach.
2. Submit an e-mail letter in support of the project, although at this late date your e-mail may not be read. It will be far more effective to voice support during the meeting. Send an e-mail to Ms. Sara Pfeiffer at NorthCentralCoast@coastal.ca.gov
